Our lifes are defined by where we live, whom we love and how society view our love. We may not chose the basic circumstances of our lives but we do have a choice in how we react to those circumstances be they good or bad. Maybe the freedom to choose our reaction is the road to live a happy life - no matter the circumstances ?
